Wellington Woman Charged with DUI After Hitting Bicyclist and Crashing Into Home

Erin Starkey in facing DUI charges after hitting a bicyclist and smashing into a house while driving under the influence at more than double the legal limit.

Starkey, who is 18-years-old, is also facing charges of child neglect as her child was in the vehicle at the time of accident.

A man riding a bicycle southbound on State Road 7 said he was struck from behind by a black vehicle that failed to stop at the scene. The cyclist was not seriously injured. Sometime later, deputies received phone calls that Starkey had crashed her vehicle into her own home on Brague Drive. A witness told deputies that Starkey took the child out of the car after the crash and put the child down before falling over several times.

A beer was found it Starkeys purse who said she had been drinking at a friends house. She also denied that she crashed into the house, according to the Palm Beach Post.
