A Lake Worth man was arrested after deputies said he hit a pedestrian with his car and then left the scene of the accident.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Julio Tomas-Pedro, 18, hit a man who was standing outside of his car and drove away. Deputies got a call just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to respond to the 400 block of South F Street in Lake Worth.
“That accident that happened at East Coast, that was all me, and I want to go to jail,” he said, according to the report.
The man who was hit was standing outside a parked car on the side of the road talking to another man who was standing there. Tomas-Pedro’s car hit the man, pinning him between the two vehicles and breaking his leg, according to an arrest report.
Just after they arrived, deputies got a call about a domestic disturbance a few blocks away. Deputies said when they got there, Tomas-Pedro approached them and said he was involved in the accident.
He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license. He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on $3,000 bail.
