GM Diminished Value Lawsuits

GM diminished vehicle value

General Motors (GM) has recalled millions of vehicles, however, their largest recall to date remains the 8.4 million vehicles recalled due to a defective ignition switch.

Millions of vehicle owners are now dealing with the fallout of the GM ignition switch defects, many of whom are unable to sell their vehicles, even after the defect has been repaired.

Gordon & Partners is investigating potential GM diminished value claims on behalf of consumers who believe their vehicle’s value has been depreciated. If you or a love one has been affected by the GM recalls, contact our law firm to schedule a free consultation with one of our experienced attorneys.

What is Diminished Value?

Diminished value is defined as loss of a vehicle’s value after it has been repaired due to a defect or auto accident.

A GM diminished value claim may be made if the claimant believes that a purchaser will not pay as much for a car that has been recalled and repaired than they would for a similar vehicle that has not been repaired.

If you are unsure if your vehicle has been affected, our highly trained attorneys can help you determine if you are entitled to file a GM diminished value claim. Your initial consultation is free and we only get paid if we obtain a successful verdict or settlement.

Recalled GM Vehicles Lose Resale Value

Following the recall announcement, GM issued a statement saying they would be giving owners of the recalled vehicles a $500 rebate to purchase or lease a new GM vehicle. However, many consumers simply wanted to sell back their vehicles and not purchase or lease another GM model.

Consumers are claiming their vehicles have lost up to $2,600 in resale value. Those who purchased the recalled vehicles claim that they would have never purchased or leased a GM vehicle if the company had not concealed the defects.
