Gordon & Partners is proud to announce that Julia Van Arsdale (pictured on the left with firm founder Robert Gordon) is one of the recipients of our 2021 South Florida Scholarship for Continued Education.
The annual scholarship was created to encourage and support exceptional leadership and academic excellence in South Florida high school students. Two scholarships valued at $500 each are awarded to a senior enrolled in a Broward, Palm Beach or Martin County High School.
Student applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA with plans to attend an accredited two or four-year U.S. College or University as a full-time student beginning the summer or fall after graduating.
As part of the application process, Julia from Broward County was asked to write an essay about how her childhood experiences influenced her to continue her education at college. We were moved by her story. She has faced hardships and demonstrated the courage and persistence to overcome them.
In her essay, Julia wrote about her experience as a survivor of the Parkland shooting. Witnessing first responders and health care workers making an immediate impact in people’s lives has motivated her to become a medical professional. She plans to major in Physical Therapy at Florida State University.
Congratulations to Julia and best of luck in your future endeavors!
