Amber Thompson Named 2021 South Florida Scholarship for Continued Education Recipient

Gordon & Partners is proud to announce that Amber Thompson (pictured on the left with firm founder Robert Gordon) is one of the recipients of our 2021 South Florida Scholarship for Continued Education.

The annual scholarship helps support exceptional leadership and academic achievement in dedicated high school students in South Florida. Two $500 scholarships are awarded each year to a senior attending a Broward, Palm Beach or Martin County High School.

Student applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and plan upon graduation to attend an accredited two or four-year U.S. College or University as a full-time student starting in the summer or fall.

Amber, who is from Broward County, was asked to write an essay about how her childhood experiences influenced her to continue her education at college. We were inspired by her story.

Amber wrote about her experience growing up with military parents. They were often on deployment for long periods of time, missing many milestones and special events. Being raised by her grandmother taught her the importance of rethinking what a normal family looks like. She has learned through her hardships to become strong, independent and focused on her career goals to become a pediatrician.
